Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Delaying the 2020 Summer Olympics until 2021 could have a massively negative financial impact on Japan, the Associated Press reported quoting Japanese financial newspaper Nikkei.

The report said that it could cost Japan US$2.7 billion.

The International Olympic Committee and the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee agreed to postpone the 2020 Summer Games until 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Olympics had been set to run from 24 July through 9 August 2021.
