Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 September, in the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Timur Ishmetov held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Sultanate of Oman, who arrived as part of the 46th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance of the Sultanate of Oman Sultan Al Habsiy, the Head of the Treasury Zahir Al Abri and other responsible specialists of the ministry.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for the development of tax administration and expansion of cooperation, including in the field of finance and the capital market. They also touched upon the topics of state budget and finance management, and the dynamics of the countries' external debt.

Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov shared information on the capital market development program in Uzbekistan for 2021-2022. Continuing the meeting, Sultan Al Habsiy expressed his opinion on the development of capital markets and the development of financial institutions. And also, considerable attention was paid to issues on the current epidemiological situation in the world, measures to combat Covid-19, its impact on the country's economy and vaccination.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on bilateral cooperation in existing and new areas, as well as expanding areas of interaction.
