The Week of Cultural Heritage launched in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 5th International Congress "Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan at the Present Stage" will be held as part of the Cultural Heritage Week, which will be held in Tashkent and other cities of Uzbekistan from 13 to 21 September this year. The events are held with the organizational and financial support of the government of Uzbekistan.

The congress will take place within the framework of the international forum in Khiva "Central Asia at the crossroads of world civilizations", held under the auspices of UNESCO.

The main event of the event will be the presentation of 40 new illustrated book-albums from the series "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world." During the pandemic, the research activities of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan not only did not stop, but also turned out to be successful. Dozens of world and domestic orientalists specializing in the study of the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan have prepared materials for new books.

“We are grateful to the government of Uzbekistan, which supports our project to preserve the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. During the pandemic, we managed to establish close contact and fruitful work with authors from Hungary, Russia, Great Britain, France and a number of other countries. The result of this work was the publication of an unprecedented number of unique books - 40. I would like to thank the authors for their tireless work and express condolences to the loved ones of those who passed away during this difficult time for all of us,” said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Chairman of the Board of the World Society.

It should be noted that over 350 scientists, historians, orientalists from more than 40 countries of the world - Russia, USA, Germany, Italy, Hungary, France, Great Britain, Turkey, Japan will take part in the Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan , Albania, Austria, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Greece, Israel, India, Jordan, Iran, China, Lebanon, Mongolia, UAE, Netherlands, Ukraine, Poland, Uzbekistan.

The Congress opened with a plenary session on the activities of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan. A solemn ceremony of donating to museums and libraries of the world 500 volumes of books-albums "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan"

Then, over the course of two days, breakout sessions will take place. Unique reports of world scientists on topical issues and problems of preserving the architectural and manuscript heritage of Uzbekistan will be heard. Much attention will be paid to the search and approval of new directions of publishing work of the project "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the world's collections" in world and republican collections.

By tradition, the Congress will end with the adoption of an appeal by members of the World Society to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and a final resolution. There will also be a review of the Company's implementation of the roadmap for 2021-2025.

-Implementation of the project "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world" is a completely unique event in the cultural and scientific community. The project demonstrates the exclusivity of the cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan, its huge contribution to world culture, carries a large-scale educational and unifying mission, gathering people of different professions and nationalities around the project, actively expanding the geography of its activities.
