Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Following the results of the first half of this year, the volume of foreign currency sales by individuals reached US$2.2 billion, an increase of 57% or US$797 million compared with the same period last year, the Central Bank said.
At the same time, the volume of foreign currency purchases by individuals made up US$1.7 billion, which is 3 times more than in the corresponding period of 2019 (US$557 million).
As a result, the surplus on these operations made up US$491 million, which is US$351 million (or 42%) less than the same period of last year.
