Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of nonperforming loan (NLP) of commercial banks in Uzbekistan as of December 1, 2023 amounted to 17.6 trillion soums, according to data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
According to the regulator, NLP increased by 5% or 854 billion soums compared to the previous month.
As a result, the share of NLP in the total portfolio of banks in Uzbekistan increased from 3.6% to 3.8%.
The Central Bank notes that NLP in state banks increased by 681 billion soums and in private banks - by 173 billion soums.
NLP at the Business Development Bank increased 1.5 times – to 1.88 trillion. soums, which is 8.5% of the loan portfolio. The National Bank of Uzbekistan was also among the leaders in the growth of NLP – 3.42 trillion soums (3.5% of the loan portfolio).
In terms of the share of NLP in the portfolio, Oktobank leads (84.6%). Also in the top three are Garant Bank (20.4%) and Iranian Bank Saderat (15.6%).
