Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Uzbekistan-Belarus Society was established in the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries.
It became the 41st country friendship society. During the constituent assembly held in the House of Friendship, the importance of the friendly and trusting relations established between Belarus and Uzbekistan was noted. Moreover, contacts are developing in many directions. People’s diplomacy is a complement and continuation of interstate relations. This is reported by BELTA.
As Nina Ivanova, chairman of the Belarusian Society for Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries, noted at the meeting, the creation of the society provides for a wide range of events that will allow to get to know the culture, history and traditions of Uzbekistan more closely. A number of Belarusian-Uzbek meetings have already taken place earlier in the House of Friendship and confirmed the huge interest of the Belarusian side in Uzbekistan, including in the field of literature and art.
The Board of the Uzbekistan–Belarus Society includes representatives of various fields of activity, which implies the active development of Belarusian-Uzbek relations.
"Belarus occupies a special place in Uzbekistan’s relations with the countries of the world. Despite the geographical distance, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus is developing dynamically, the peoples of the two friendly countries are very close and have a lot in common. This is based on our common historical roots," said Rakhmatulla Nazarov, Charge d’affaires of Uzbekistan in Belarus.
