Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzbek-Malaysian business forum and bilateral meetings in B2B and G2B formats were held in Samarkand as part of the visit of the Malaysian government delegation led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The event was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the two countries, industry associations, as well as more than 200 large Malay and Uzbek companies.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev emphasized that trade and economic relations with Malaysia are strengthening, and that this visit will contribute to the further expansion of cooperation.
It was noted that a favorable investment environment has been created in Uzbekistan, legislation is being improved, and an active policy is being pursued to liberalize the economy.
During the business forum, current issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as measures to develop industrial cooperation were discussed.
At the event, a number of documents on trade and economic cooperation were signed, in particular, a memorandum of understanding between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Malaysian Foreign Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
