Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The IT sector of Uzbekistan took part in the leading technology exhibition in the capital of Oman, Muscat - Comex 2024.
From 27 to 30 May, Comex 2024 attracted more than 70,000 visitors. The main focus of the techno exhibition was on advanced technologies, interaction with IT leaders and exploration of the future of technology in different sectors.
The independent organization Strategeast initiated the participation of delegations from the IT industry of Central Asia and the Caucasus at Comex 2024 as part of the USAID project for the development of entrepreneurship and business environment (USAID/FGI).
According to StrategEast President Anatoly Motkin, Oman is interested in receiving high-quality digital services and is considering the possibility of participation of Central Asian countries, in particular Uzbekistan, in the development of the country’s product and service ecosystem.
“Oman understands and highly appreciates the contribution that Central Asian countries can bring to the level of increasing expertise in the IT field. “I am sure that this is the beginning of a long and productive cooperation in the IT field between the Gulf regions and Central Asia,” said the president of StrategEast.
This year, Comex 2024 featured more than 80 speakers. As part of the panel discussion “Eurasia and Oman: digital cooperation,” representatives of several countries in Central Asia and the Caucasus shared their experiences and prospects for the development of the region’s IT sector, as well as the advantages of cooperation between the Gulf countries and this market.
Among the speakers of the discussion were Daniel Eshmatov (Director of Information Technology of the state enterprise "Infocom" of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic), Zhazira Zhunussova (Head of the Product Promotion Department "National Information Technologies" of the Ministry of Digitalization of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Tornike Jobava (Deputy Chairman of GITA - Georgian Innovation Agency and technologies).
