Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 May, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan received a delegation from the United States, led by Adams Stewart, President of the Utah State Senate.
The American guests were welcomed by an Uzbek delegation headed by Deputy Minister Sarvarkhan Buzrukhonov, who provided a detailed overview of the ongoing reforms in the country’s higher education system. Special attention was given to the measures being implemented to train highly qualified specialists in engineering and technical fields.
The parties discussed prospects for deepening partnership in key areas such as energy, information technology, mechanical engineering, architecture and construction, chemical industry, agriculture, medicine, and pharmaceuticals.
Currently, 40 higher education institutions in Uzbekistan carry out partnership projects with more than 25 universities and educational organizations in the United States. The cooperation encompasses a broad range of activities, including academic exchanges of faculty and students, joint scientific research and forums, professional development programs, as well as involving American experts in the educational process at Uzbek universities.
Adams Stewart expressed satisfaction with the achieved results and emphasized the importance of further strengthening these ties.
As a successful example, he cited the joint scientific conference held in May of this year in Samarkand, organized by universities from both countries.
