The TV channel "Russia 24" to make a documentary film about the Aral Sea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In the second half of June, a creative film crew from the Russia 24 television channel will visit Uzbekistan.

Russian television journalists will shoot a documentary film about the ongoing work in our country to overcome the effects of the drying up of the Aral Sea, improve the ecological and socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea region, and consolidate the efforts of the international community in this direction. 

The project was worked out by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow together with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection.

The creative team of the TV channel will visit the cities of Muinak, Nukus, the area around the reservoir, conduct surveys and record interviews with officials, medical workers, environmentalists, historians, archaeologists and specialists from other industries.

In the film, whose timekeeping will be 40 minutes, it is planned to reflect initiatives and practical measures implemented in our country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to eliminate the consequences of the environmental crisis, improve the socio-economic situation and improve the living standards of the population of the Aral Sea region. Special attention will be paid to the results achieved in the implementation of the Comprehensive Program of Measures to mitigate the effects of the Aral Disaster and the development of the region, the State Program for the Development of the Aral Sea Region for 2017-2021.

Russian journalists will also acquaint the audience of the TV channel with the activities of the Multi-Partner Trust Fund for the Aral Sea region under the auspices of the United Nations and the Environmental Innovation and Technology Zone in the Aral Sea region, created at the initiative of Uzbekistan.
