The size of benefits for children and material assistance for low-income people to increase

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Starting from 1 September, instead of a child benefit under 14 years old and a child care benefit under 2 years old, a single child benefit is introduced. The corresponding decree was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Starting from 1 September, instead of the allowance for a child up to 14 years old and the allowance for caring for a child up to 2 years old, a unified child allowance will be introduced.

Moreover, when assigning this benefit:

- the age norm of children increases from 14 to 18 years;

- payment term from 6 to 12 months;

- the amount of the allowance is determined based on the number of children in the family;

- low-income families who do not have children or have children over 18 years of age are assigned material assistance.

The following sizes of child allowances and payments of material assistance to low-income families are established:

Children’s benefits:

- for one child from 3 to 18 years old - 250,000 soums (+56,000 soums);

- for one child under 3 years of age - 325,000 soums (+131,000 soums);

- additional payment for the second child - 150,000 soums (+186,000 soums);

- for the third and subsequent children - from 100,000 soums (increases from the current 190,000 to 290,000 soums);

- the amount of material assistance – 380,000 soums.

Starting from January 1, 2022, the sum of the minimum consumption expenditures will be used as a criterion for the poverty level and per capita income to determine the low-income families.
