The prospects for the development of equestrian sports in Uzbekistan discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 21 October, the head of the International Equestrian Federation Ingmar de Vos arrived in Tashkent on an official visit, accompanied by the chairman of the Russian Equestrian Federation, Marina Sechina.

The purpose of the visit of international guests was to study the possibilities of Uzbekistan in horse breeding and equestrian sports and the development of infrastructure in this area.

The delegation was greeted by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Dilmurod Nabiev, President of the National Olympic Committee Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov and Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Horse Breeding and Equestrian Sports of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Gaziev.

A meeting was held between the parties on the same day, where delegates discussed the prospects for the development and popularization of horse breeding and equestrian sports in Uzbekistan, the holding of individual international equestrian events in our country and cooperation in the exchange of experience with international organizations in this field.

Information was provided to the foreign side that today the government of Uzbekistan pays great attention to the development of equestrian sport.

Thus, by the resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PP-3057 dated 06/15/2017 and PP-4194 dated 02/18/2019, a number of benefits and preferences were established for the Federation of Horse Breeding and Equestrian Sports of Uzbekistan, the creation of an innovative breeding and genetic center for the reproduction and breeding of horses of the Karabair breed is provided, as well as an increase in the number of Akhalteke pedigree breeds and high-value sport horses.

It also envisages the phased creation of children and youth equestrian schools in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya, Tashkent, Khorezm regions and the city of Tashkent. Work is underway on the reconstruction of the central hippodrome, taking into account the requirements of the International Equestrian Federation.

Also during the visit, foreign guests visited the equestrian facilities of the capital. At the Universal Jumping Agro equestrian club, de Vos personally awarded all the participants of the international horse breeding and equestrian tournament, and during the conversation at the capital's Hippodrome, the parties paid special attention to the breeding of Karabeir horses and their preparation for international competitions.

It should be noted that today in Uzbekistan there are about 15 equestrian clubs, in which more than 70 athletes are professionally involved in equestrian sports.
