Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the 40th international tourism exhibition “FITUR-2020” in Madrid, a presentation of the tourist potential of Uzbekistan and a briefing for representatives of the Spanish media were held, Dunyo news agency reported.

The events were organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain together with the International Association of Latin Journalists in the Field of Tourism. Their participants were acquainted with detailed information on the development of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, wide opportunities for organizing various types of recreation, the huge tourism potential of the country, as well as a liberal visa policy for tourists from more than 80 countries of the world.

It was emphasized that today Uzbekistan is taking unprecedented measures to radically reform the tourism industry, turning tourism into a powerful tool for sustainable economic growth and modernization of the country. As part of the new concept for the development of tourism, a number of programs and projects are being implemented to introduce modern innovative technologies and methods for developing the tourism industry, providing services, creating tourist zones, and building new hotels.

The participants were presented with figures demonstrating the real growth of the tourist flow to the republic. It was emphasized that according to the results of 2019, more than 12 thousand Spanish tourists visited Uzbekistan, which was almost 2 times higher than the same indicator in the previous similar period.
