The new Academy of Information Technologies in Zarafshan to train Uzbek programmers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An opening ceremony of the Academy of Information Technologies in the city of Zarafshan, Navoi region was held with the participation of the khokim of Zarafshan Anvar Rajabov, as well as the director of the Japanese company Beeanz Inc. Tsutomu Uchiyama, the Japanese educational company "Gakkou plus" Junichi Sugimoto and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo in a videoconference format, Dunyo news agency reported.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the National Anthem of Uzbekistan was performed. Further, the speakers noted that this cooperation with Japan is being implemented within the framework of the training project “One million Uzbek programmers”.

In November 2019, within the framework of cooperation of the city of Zarafshan with the Japanese company "Beeanz Inc." a memorandum of cooperation was signed and a Japanese private enterprise "Zarafshan-Uchiyama Systems" was established with the aim of creating an Academy of Information Technology in this city.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the Uzbek and Japanese partners, with the assistance of the Uzbek Embassy in Tokyo, continued regular contacts and held a number of videoconferences. Within the framework of the project, the Japanese side provided computers and laptops of a new generation with advanced software.

The speakers noted that the graduates of the academy will have the opportunity to work in IT companies around the world, including Japan, as well as to conduct their business in Zarafshan.

Representatives of the Japanese educational company "Gakkou plus" introduced the curriculum, training schedule and test conditions for training, which begins on September 14.

During the event, young students of the Academy made speeches in Japanese, who assured that, on the basis of the knowledge gained, they wish to contribute to the entry of Uzbekistan into the number of advanced countries in the world in the field of information technologies.

At the end of the meeting, an online acquaintance with the Academy classes, which are equipped with modern computers connected to high-speed fiber-optic internet, as well as TVs and an electronic board, took place.
