The management of the Central Bank takes part in the annual general meeting of the International Association of Deposit Insurers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The management of the Central Bank and the fund for guaranteeing citizens’ deposits in banks takes part in the annual general meeting of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) 2023, which is held in Boston (USA) and holds a number of meetings.

In particular, in New York, representatives of the Central Bank and the Fund for Guaranteeing Citizens’ Deposits in Banks met with a delegation led by the vice-president of the Turkish Deposit Insurance Fund. During the dialogue, the processes of deposit insurance in Uzbekistan were discussed in detail and Turkey’s experience in reducing losses in the industry was reviewed. As a result of the meeting in Boston, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the funds of the two countries.

During the meeting with the Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund, representatives of foreign countries informed about the processes of protecting the rights and interests of depositors in the process of liquidation of banks. The Azerbaijani side invited representatives of Uzbekistan to Baku at the beginning of 2024 for a direct exchange of experience.

At a meeting with representatives of the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Kazakhstan, an exchange of views took place on the paybox-plus system. Representatives of Kazakhstan expressed interest in signing a memorandum of understanding, and it was proposed to sign this document within the framework of the Asia-Pacific regional meeting of the International Association of Deposit Insurers, which will be held in 2024.

Representatives of the Central Bank and the Fund also took part in the meeting of the Eurasian Regional Committee, where the issue of organizing seminars on current topics in the industry was raised.

During the meeting with representatives of Georgia, an agreement was reached to sign a memorandum of understanding between representatives of the two countries with the aim of exchanging positive experience in this area.

As part of the event, meetings were also held with representatives of India, South Korea and Croatia to discuss issues in the field.
