The loan portfolio of banks reached 533.12 trillion soums in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 January 2025, the total volume of loans issued by Uzbekistan's commercial banks reached 533.12 trillion soums, representing a 13% increase compared to the previous year. These figures were published by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

According to the regulator's report, out of the total loan portfolio, 355.59 trillion soums (+10%) were allocated to legal entities, while 177.53 trillion soums (+19%) were issued to individuals.

State-owned banks provided loans amounting to 366.73 trillion soums, of which 92.7 trillion soums were directed toward individuals and 274.03 trillion soums to legal entities. Non-state banks allocated 166.39 trillion soums, distributing 84.83 trillion soums in loans to individuals and 81.55 trillion soums to legal entities.

Among state-owned banks, the leaders in loan issuance were UzNatsbank (108.01 trillion soums), Uzpromstroybank (65.5 trillion soums), and Agrobank (59.43 trillion soums). Leading non-state banks included Ipoteka Bank (35.09 trillion soums), Kapitalbank (31.58 trillion soums), and Hamkorbank (19.18 trillion soums).

Loans provided to individuals totaled 177.53 trillion soums. Of this amount, 67.73 trillion soums (+16%) were allocated to mortgage loans, 42.37 trillion soums to microloans (+73%), and 40.72 trillion soums to consumer loans (-9%). Loans for education reached 5.85 trillion soums (+23%), while loans for entrepreneurship development amounted to 19.52 trillion soums (+19%).

The volume of loans issued to non-credit organization legal entities amounted to 330.21 trillion soums (+7%). Significant growth was also observed in areas such as leasing and factoring (2.76 trillion soums, +36%) and microcredits (17.11 trillion soums, +224%).
