Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 14 to 19 November, the city of Ufa (Russian Federation) will host the International School Sports Festival among the CIS member states. The festival has been traditionally held since 2013. The event is attended by boys and girls aged 13-15 as part of school teams from the CIS countries, diasporas of the CIS countries living in the Russian Federation, as well as the combined team of school sports clubs in Russia.

“The Festival of the CIS countries is one of the most significant events of the federal project “Children's Sports”. When schoolchildren come to the competitions, they not only make new friends, but also learn about the culture of other countries, get acquainted with the traditions and life of the people of Russia, and most importantly help us, adults, speak the same language and strengthen our friendly relations,” notes the project coordinator Irina Rodnina.

Every year more than 450 schoolchildren take part in the Festival as part of national teams from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Sports of Russia, the All-Russian Federation of School Sports with the support of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states.

In 2022, the Festival will be held from 14 to 19 November in Ufa, where participants will compete in six sports, as well as a rich cultural and entertainment program.

On 15 November, the solemn opening ceremony of the Festival will be held.
