Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The total number of recipients of pensions and benefits in Uzbekistan (as of 1 April 2022) is 4.1 million people (of which 56.3% are women) or 11.6% of the population. This was announced at a press conference with the participation of officials of the off-budget Pension Fund.
In accordance with the Law of February 9, 2022 No. ZRU-752, amendments and additions were made to the Law “On State Pension Provision of Citizens” and the Labor Code. According to the changes made:
● When calculating a pension, women are allowed to take into account the length of service while on parental leave, but not more than 6 years in total;
● Pupils and students of educational institutions have received the right to a survivor’s pension for the entire period of their education, but until they reach the age of 23;
● When calculating the length of service, the time taken to care for a person with a disability of group I or a child with a disability under the age of 18 is taken into account.
