Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 October, Head of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan Sara Noshadi, together with Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov, visited cultural heritage sites in Bukhara. 

In particular, they got acquainted with the repair and restoration work carried out at cultural heritage sites in the historical part of Bukhara, such as the Ark fortress, the Kalon mosque, the Abdulazizkhan and Ulugbek madrasahs, the Nadir Devonbegi madrasah, the Khoja Kalon mosque and pool Khoja Kalon.

They also got acquainted with the construction processes of hotels owned by Metric Ventures (Hyatt Regency), International Hotel Services (Whindham), Peekyk, Almachi Tour Service, located on Gijduvan Street in Bukhara.

Aziz Abdukhakimov gave relevant instructions to officials on the restoration of cultural heritage sites located in the historical part of Bukhara, as well as the Palace of Amir Olimkhan, located in the Kogan district.

In addition, responsible persons were instructed to prepare proposals for a "tourist city", which is expected to be created in Bukhara.

The technical school of tourism and cultural heritage in Bukhara did not go unnoticed either. Currently, construction and repair work is underway here. Instructions were given to complete the repairs by November.

During the visit, it is planned to visit the Bahauddin Nakshband complex in Bukhara region, the Ismail Samani and Chashmai Ayub mausoleums in the historical part of the city of Bukhara, as well as other objects.

It should be noted that in connection with this, a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On measures for the further development of the tourism sector in Bukhara region for 2022-2026" was published.
