Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan approved a provision on the procedure for providing cars and motor vehicles for short-term rent.
At the end of July 2018, the Civil Code of Uzbekistan was amended to allow legal entities to provide passenger cars with short-term leases for up to 30 days for individuals on the basis of a simple written contract, without notarization.
The provision states that in order to rent a car, the renter must provide a passport, driver’s license of the person who will operate the vehicle (national or international standard), a certificate of medical examination (at the discretion of the lessor) and confirmation of the security deposit (at the discretion of the lessor).
The contract stipulates the rights and obligations of the parties, their responsibility; the market value of the rented vehicle; rental period; amount of rent, terms and conditions of its payment, etc.
In the short-term lease only technically sound, equipped with DVRs and GPS-navigators, as well as the vehicle passed the inspection, are provided.
The car owner may require a security deposit at the time of rental. The pledge serves as a guarantee of payment of the damage caused, requiring compensation by the renter, fines for violating traffic rules. If there are no claims from the lessor, the amount of the security deposit is returned to the lessee after the expiration of the contract.
