The Fourth Uzbek Arbitration Week (UzAW) takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, together with the Tashkent International Arbitration Center (TIAC), is hosting the fourth edition of Uzbek Arbitration Week (UzAW), which runs from 9 to 13 September 2024.

This key event brings together local and international arbitration specialists, providing a platform for sharing experiences and discussing trends in international arbitration.

Among the international speakers at Uzbek Arbitration Week 2024 are practitioners from the USA, UK, Germany, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, UAE, Georgia, Pakistan, Uruguay, and other countries.

The flagship conference, starting on September 9, will include panels on key topics such as:

- Uzbekistan as a regional hub for resolving commercial and investment disputes in the CIS and beyond;

- The TIAC-HKIAC joint institutional arbitration rules and regional cooperation;

- Creating favorable conditions for arbitration proceedings;

- How to draft effective arbitration clauses;

- Pathways to becoming an English solicitor.

UzAW, organized by TIAC, aims to strengthen Uzbekistan’s role as a regional arbitration center. Established in 2019, TIAC is unique for its lack of administrative fees and its specialized rules for technology disputes.

UzAW will also highlight Uzbekistan’s growing role in international arbitration, particularly due to its adoption of the UNCITRAL Model Law and the establishment of the Tashkent International Commercial Court.
