Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An Uzbek-Chinese seminar on poverty reduction has started in Beijing. At the opening ceremony, Jiang Tianbao, Vice Chairman of the National Administration for Rural Revitalization of the People’s Republic of China, praised the huge potential for cooperation between the two countries in the fight against poverty.

As noted at the event, in recent years Uzbekistan has paid special attention to the issues of poverty reduction, Dunyo news agency reported.

In the updated Constitution of Uzbekistan, the country is proclaimed a social state, the constitutional obligations of the state to further ensure the protection of the honor and dignity of a person, social support for the population are separately fixed.

It should be noted that the program of the seminar provides for an exchange of views on the policy of combating poverty, the development of an institutional system for poverty reduction, industrial development, and education.

Particular attention will be paid to the exchange of experience in the field of improving health care, rural development and rural tourism. Uzbek specialists will also visit a number of provinces to get acquainted with China’s achievements in the field of poverty reduction on the ground.
