Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 June 2021, Qoqand University was visited by guests of a prestigious conference dedicated to the VI meeting of tourism ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries.

Guests were greeted solemnly according to the ancient traditions of hospitality of the Khokandi latif.

The exhibition of national and modern crafts of Qoqand, created on the territory of the university, as well as the created corners reflecting the unique traditions of 6 countries-employees, aroused great interest among the guests

During the visit, the first stone was laid in the foundation of the "Tafakkur Gulshani" monument dedicated to popularizing the reading of books, which reflects the names of the great writers of six countries. On the occasion of the important historical conference held on 24 June in Qoqand - the VI meeting of the tourism ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries, a letter was written and placed in a capsule for future generations.

Negotiations were held with the ministers of tourism of the Turkic-speaking countries on cooperation in the field of higher education. The parties exchanged views on cooperation with higher educational institutions of the Turkic-speaking countries, in organizing the exchange of students and teachers, conducting research and publishing scientific articles in journals included in international databases. It was also reported that Qoqand University provides special benefits for citizens of Turkic countries, the possibility of creating summer schools for students under a special program.

As a sign of respect for the representatives of the partner countries, the flags of the Turkic states were raised on the territory of the university, and the guests were presented with priceless works and souvenirs dedicated to the history of Qoqand.

As part of the event, seminars and trainings on mutually beneficial and promising cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries were organized for students of Qoqand University. 

For reference, Qoqand University is a non-state higher educational institution that trains leading world specialists and prepares leaders to promote Uzbekistan on the world stage. The university was established on the basis of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 17, 2019 No. 683 "On the establishment of the Qoqand University."

Also, at the suggestion of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, students are trained in tourism and hotel management.

The university cooperates with more than 50 universities in Turkey, South Korea, the USA, the Russian Federation, Japan, France, Indonesia, Poland, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic, conducts joint research and grant projects, organizes international conferences and symposia, signs agreements and memorandums on joint educational programs ...

The visit of the tourism ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries to Qoqand University will serve to expand mutually beneficial and promising cooperation with higher educational institutions of the Turkic-speaking countries.
