Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 April, the “First international ethno-sports games of the ECO countries” took place on the territory of the Ok Saroy complex.

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by Chairman of the Committee on Tourism of Uzbekistan Umid Shadiev, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Khusrav Noziri, as well as leaders and high-ranking guests of delegations of ECO member states.

Ethnosport is a type of sporting event that helps preserve the authenticity of traditional games and the rich heritage of the country, which contribute to the development of tourism and sports

The festival began with an honorary procession of participants in ethno-sports games.

Foreign guests from Pakistan, Iran, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan took part in the sports competitions.

The participants showed their skills in archery, belt wrestling, mas-wrestling, horse wrestling and stone lifting.

The demonstration performances of young wrestlers and circus performances of strongmen aroused great interest among the assembled spectators.
