Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 June 2024, during the official visit of the management of the Uzatom Atomic Energy Agency and the First Deputy General Director of the Rosatom State Corporation A. Petrov, the first Headquarters was held at the site of the low-power nuclear power plant (SMM). by construction.

The delegation inspected the site where work on creating the infrastructure of the future six-block nuclear power plant will begin in the autumn. 

The construction headquarters identified priority tasks for the implementation of the contract, aimed at the timely start of work on the construction site, including the construction of a workers’ camp and the necessary infrastructure.

A protocol was also signed on the entry into force of the contract for the construction of the nuclear power plant, concluded on 27 May 2024.

The document was signed by the director of the nuclear power plant construction directorate of the Uzatom Atomic Energy Agency, Otabek Amanov, and the director of projects for the construction of nuclear power plants in Central Asia, Atomstroyexport JSC, Pavel Bezrukov.

As part of the visit to the site, the delegation also met with the head of the Jizzakh region, Eragsh Saliev.
