Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the concluded Memorandum between the Ministry of Preschool Education, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), 13 pilot preschool educational organizations in Tashkent were provided modern balance bikes (without pedal bicycles for children) for pupils. The main advantage of the balance bike is that it is easier for small children to learn how to maintain balance, which further contributes to an easier transition to a regular bike.
On 1 June 2021, on the territory of the Eco Park in Tashkent, the I cycling marathon was held among preschool children at the age of 6 under the motto "Green step into the future", in which 65 pupils of state preschool educational organizations took part. Also, teachers of preschool educational organizations, cycling sportsmen of Uzbekistan took part in this event, who provided support to children when passing the route.
The issues of education of ecological, physical culture and mass introduction to sports of children and youth are invariably in the focus of attention of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The main goal of the children’s cycling marathon was the formation of sustainable skills in the field of environmental preservation and the use of green transport, as well as the popularization of cycling among preschool children, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the formation of a culture of behavior in children on the roads and observance of road safety rules.
Such a children’s cycling marathon was held for the first time in Uzbekistan and, as international experience shows, for the first time in Central Asia.
At the initiative of the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan, in the future, the gradual provision of preschool educational organizations in all regions of the country with balance bikes will be carried out, and all the necessary conditions for physical education and mass sports will be created. Children participating in the cycling marathon were awarded commemorative medals, gifts, and a children’s entertainment program was organized for them, where they, together with artists, they participated in various competitions and games.
