Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A creative evening was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow, dedicated to the 579th anniversary of the birth of the great Uzbek poet, thinker, scientist and statesman Alisher Navoi, Dunyo reported.
To celebrate this significant event, representatives of official structures, Navoi scientists, professors and researchers of higher educational institutions, members and activists of the Uzbek diaspora, compatriots working and studying in Russia were invited to the diplomatic mission.
The poet’s celebration began with the traditional ceremony of laying flowers at his monument on Serpukhovskaya Square in the center of Moscow, established in 2002. The monument is a bronze figure 4.5 meters high, which is mounted on a high granite pedestal. The ingenious writer is depicted dressed in national clothes and enthusiastically reading his poems.
The event was continued at the Embassy in the format of a "round table" with a discussion of life, creative activity and works of Navoi. An exchange of views took place on the essence and significance of the works Leeson Ut-Tair (The Language of the Birds), Khazoyinul-Maoniy (The Treasury of Thoughts), Badoe ul-Bidoya (Miracles of the Origins), Hamsa ( “Five”), “Devoni Foniy”, gazelles and ruby. The participants were greatly interested in reports on the manuscripts of our ancestor stored in museums in various parts of the world, their study, the developing cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, the role and importance of Alisher Navoi’s creative heritage in this process.
Speaking to the audience, Igor Krugovykh, chairman of the board of the public organization “Society of Friendship and Cooperation of Russia with Uzbekistan,” emphasized that the poet’s invaluable work, in which fidelity, love, friendship, patriotism, and tolerance are a possession not only of Uzbekistan, but of all mankind. Therefore, the relevance of studying his work only increases over time, more and more new studies appear, revealing previously unknown to the general public aspects of the intellectual heritage of the great philosopher.
In this context, a high assessment was given to the ongoing work in Uzbekistan to comprehensively study and popularize the work of Navoi.
