Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Recently, the chairman of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov received the cycling athlete Olga Zabelinskaya, who is currently in Tashkent.

Also, the licensee of Tokyo-2020 Olga Zabelinskaya was received by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the head of the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on promising plans for the further development of cycling in our country, especially on attracting women to this sport and thereby make a worthy contribution to promoting a healthy lifestyle in our country.

“Work on the development of cycling in Uzbekistan is in full swing. This is evidenced by the fact that professional teams of men and women are being formed on the cycle road and the construction of the BMX cycle track in Jizzakh. Based on my little research, I can assume that the creation of a modern base for the national team in Zamin district of Jizzakh region will become a solid foundation for our new victories. The air in this area is ideal for cyclists,” Olga Zabelinskaya expressed her opinion.

The meeting also discussed plans for 2021, including the construction of an indoor velodrome in Samarkand, further strengthening the material and technical base of our team, maximizing the potential of foreign coaches and, thus, helping to prepare our athletes for the upcoming major competitions.
