The Border checkpoint "Kara-Suu" closed 14 years ago to reopen soon

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the coming days, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan plan to reopen the border checkpoint "Kara-Suu" (known as "Karasuv" on the Uzbek side).

According to Kyrgyz media, the Presidential Representative of Kyrgyzstan in Osh region Elchibek Jantaev visited the checkpoints "Kara-Suu" and "Intymak," which have been closed for 14 years.

Jantaev stated that the "Kara-Suu" checkpoint is now fully prepared for reopening soon. It is expected that its launch will alleviate the traffic at the "Dostuk" checkpoint. He also emphasized the importance of expanding the road to the checkpoint and ensuring order in the surrounding area.

After inspecting the "Kara-Suu" checkpoint, Jantaev visited the "Intymak" checkpoint, where the restoration of the bridge over the Sharkan-Sai canal is underway. The completion of the bridge construction will significantly improve transportation for drivers and passengers.
