Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Issues of further expanding interstate cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere became the main theme of the working meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov with the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.
During the talks, a thorough exchange of views took place on the progress of the implementation of the Intergovernmental Program of Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere for 2019-2021.
The parties agreed to support on a reciprocal basis the organization of bilateral visits, holding days of culture of Uzbekistan and Russia, festivals, tours of theaters. Particular attention will be paid to interregional cooperation and direct partnerships between cultural institutions.
The Russian partners were pleased to accept the invitation to participate in the I Bakhshi International Art Festival in Termez and the XII Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival in Samarkand.
The meeting also noted the importance of establishing and developing cooperation between the museums of the two countries. In this regard, an agreement was reached on exploring the possibility of signing in the near future of an appropriate agreement providing for specific mechanisms for the implementation of this kind of interaction.
The Russian side expressed support for plans to create a Coordination Center and Creative Laboratory of the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.A. Gerasimov (VGIK). The main goals of this structure will be the selection of students for further study at a Russian university and conducting thematic workshops for Uzbek specialists.
