The 6th meeting of the Turkic Council tourism ministers to be held in Qoqand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The VI meeting of the ministers on tourism of the Turkic Council will be held in the city of Qoqand on 23-24 June.

In order to implement the advanced initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2019-2020, within the framework of the summits of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, systematic work is being carried out to further strengthen ties on cooperation in the field of tourism. In particular, the inclusion of the cities of Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent in the project of the joint tourist route "Modern Silk Road", implemented within the framework of the Turkic Council, was ensured.

According to the final protocol of the 5th meeting of the ministers of tourism of the Turkic Council, held in 2020, the next 6th meeting and the 15th meeting of the working group on tourism are scheduled to be held on 23-24 June in the city of Qoqand.

Until today, the participation of the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreev, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Turkish Republic Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aktoti Raimkulova, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Akilbek Zhaparov, Fuad Nagiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been approved in this event.

During the meeting, it is planned to discuss such important issues as the restoration of the tourism sector after the pandemic, the implementation of the "Pilgrimage Tourism" project, as well as the restoration of international flights between major cities of the member countries.

Along with this, foreign participants will be familiarized with promising projects in the tourism sector, the possibilities of pilgrim tourism, handicrafts, ecotourism and the gastronomic potential of the Fergana region.

It is worth noting that the meeting to be held in the city of Qoqand is the first event at the ministerial level after the entry of the Republic of Uzbekistan into membership in the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States.
