Thailand officially introduces visa-free regime for Uzbek citizens

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – From 15 July 2024, Thailand has officially introduced a visa-free regime for up to 60 days for Uzbek citizens, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the information provided by the General Consulate of Uzbekistan, previously, visa-free entry to Thailand was available to citizens of 57 countries. Now, this list has been expanded to include 36 new countries, including China, India, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

The visa-free regime applies to all travelers entering Thailand through any border checkpoints.

This decision was made unilaterally by the Thai government to stimulate economic growth and may be reviewed in the future.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, negotiations are currently underway to develop an intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa-free travel between Uzbekistan and Thailand.

Prior to 15 July, Uzbek citizens could obtain a 15-day tourist visa upon arrival at the airport for US$60.
