Press-uz.info reported that the final stage of tests were carried out on 10 February 2011 with running locomotive with seven loaded wagons through all stations and roads/
On 8-9 February, tests of roads from Hairatan station to Mazar-e-Sharif station has been conducted, the report said.
During the works, centralized blocking and communication, power supply and crossovers were also tested.
At the end of the test, international experts stated that the railroad meets all necessary requirements and international standards.
As earlier reported, Uzbekistan Temir Yollari started to construct Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif railroad on 22 January 2010.
The Uzbek company constructed 75 km railroad and several stations, as well as reconstructed Hairatan station within the project.
The project was financed due to US$165 million grant of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and US$5 million of own funds of the Afghanistan Government..
