President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On priority measures for liberalization of monetary policy” on 2 September 2017. The decree said that prices and tariffs for services, works and goods shall be set in national currency only.

On 4 September, the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of operators and providers.

During the meeting, a decision was adopted to introduce tariffs in national currency. The soums tariffs will be calculate on the bases of the exchange rate of the Central Bank at the rate of 4210.35 soums per US dollar.
