Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 October 2024, a traffic accident occurred in Namangan involving a Gentra car and a truck.
Five underage teenagers had rented the vehicle and were involved in the crash.
The driver, speeding down Margilan Street, lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off its lane, crossed a concrete barrier, and ended up in the oncoming lane, where it collided with a truck.
The 17-year-old driver of the Gentra died on the way to the hospital. Four passengers, including three 17-year-olds and one 15-year-old, sustained serious injuries and were taken to the intensive care unit at the Namangan branch of the Republican Center for Emergency Medical Assistance.
All the injured are in critical condition and have been placed on ventilators. One of them experienced clinical death but was revived by medical professionals.
The investigation is ongoing, and details regarding how the teenagers were able to rent the car have not yet been disclosed.
