Annual international technological contest Technovation takes place in 160 countries of the world and it is open for girls at the age from 10 to 18. The contest is aimed at attracting girls to IT sector, business and entrepreneurship in IT-sphere.

Technovation Challenge will be held in Uzbekistan for the second time in 2018. Technovation Uzbekistan Launch Week 2018 will launch the contest. Technovation Uzbekistan Launch Week 2018 will be held within five days and gather together participants, mentors, partners, coordinators and the organizers of the contest.

The contest is organized by the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Inha University in Tashkent, the United Nations Development Program Office in Uzbekistan, the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Green Business Innovations, Brand.uz, Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center.

Within the Technovation Uzbekistan Launch Week 2018, the participants will receive information on contest and its rules, as well as knowledge on various areas.

On 20-21 and 27-28 January, the participants will take part in series of seminars and master classes.

In particular, they will obtain knowledge on design thinking, social entrepreneurship, team-building, basics of marketing researches, etc.

On 27-28 January, the contest participants will start work on development of their projects. During this process, they will be able to receive advises and help from mentors and coordinators.

Technovation Uzbekistan Launch Week 2018 will also include training for trainers for tram mentors. The event will also include seminar for parents of the participants, which will be dedicated to advantages of STEM-education for children, as well as presentations about Inha University in Tashkent and Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

This year, Technovation Uzbekistan will be expanded to the regions of Uzbekistan. Online sessions will be organized for the participants from the regions of Uzbekistan.

All events of Technovation Uzbekistan Launch Week 2018 will take place in the campus of Inha University in Tashkent.

After Technovation Uzbekistan Launch Week 2018, teams with their mentors will continue work on developing their project. Next event of Technovation Uzbekistan will be held in March 2018 and the participants will discuss preliminary results of the projects. Team will receive feedbacks of the coordinators and take part in the seminars with participation of local and foreign speakers.

The final of Technovation Uzbekistan will take place in the middle of May 2018. The contest jury will select several teams, which will receive chance to represent Uzbekistan in international contest Technovation Challenge.

Registration to Technovation Uzbekistan contest is open till 10 February 2018.
