Tax bodies cannot suspend operations with banking accounts of businesses
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tax bodies of Uzbekistan lost right to suspend operations of the business entities with their banking accounts.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a law "On introduction of changes and amendments some legislative acts of Uzbekistan" on 4 September, which introduced amendments to Tax Code and law “On state tax service”.

Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the law on 23 August 2014, the Senate approved it on 28 August 2014.

In line with the amendments, now tax bodies cannot suspend operations with the banking accounts of the business entities if they failed to submit tax and financial reports in time, or the entity is not located in stated address. The operations with banking accounts can be suspended only with the decision of the courts.

The changes to legislation were introduced within the presidential decree from April 2014, which is directed at improving investment climate and business environment in Uzbekistan.
