The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On programme of developing tourism sphere in Tashkent region for 2013-2015” on 20 September 2013.
Within the programme, the region works on developing and effectively using tourism potential, opening new tourism routes, resorts and improving conditions for tourists, etc.
Main department of economy of Tashkent region, some US$77.7 million will be directed to implementation of the projects withinthe programme. The programme will be financed due to foreign investments, loans and grants.
According to the programme, it is planned to reconstruct historical-cultural heritage objects in the region. In particular, it is planned to reconstruct archeological monument Shohruhiya, Honqa, Saur Tepa Complex, Shodmalik-ota, Sardoba Qaynar, etc. Several hotels in the region will undergo renovation. About 20new modern hotels will be constructed.
The programme also stipulates to develop transport services, including to buy 253 cars and about 200 buses.
It is planned to organize tours to Ugam-Chatkal sate national natural park, which is located at 574,600 hectares of Bostanlik, Parkent and Ahangaran districts, to Chatkal state biosphere reservoir, organize exhibitions of fish and fish products in Chinaz districts, and others.
The programme also stipulates measures on training high skilled cadres for tourism sector and improving conditions at Bostanlik professional tourism college.
