Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The third Silk Road Business Leaders Summit on the theme "New Era of Openness. New Development Platform. New Hunan Beautiful" was held in September 2018 in Zhangjiajie, China, where the delegation of Uzbekistan participated for the first time.
The Summit hosted the International Tourism Forum, where the tourism potential of Uzbekistan was presented. The participants highly appreciated the ongoing large-scale reforms in this sector in Uzbekistan, including a significant simplification of the visa procedure for citizens of China, as well as the introduction of an e-visa issuance mechanism. As a result, at the general final meeting, Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Karshi and the Tashkent region were accepted into the Alliance of Silk Road Cities.
Today, representatives of the All-China Association for the Promotion of Friendship handed a special certificate to the capital’s khokimiyat in the Tashkent city administration.
As the representatives of both sides noted at the meeting, the interaction between the peoples of Uzbekistan and China has historical foundations, originates from a distant past. Thousands of years ago, the Great Silk Road left traces of friendly and mutually beneficial contacts between the two peoples. The fact that the bond of friendship between Uzbeks and Chinese has deep historical roots is a solid foundation for further strengthening the good-neighborliness between our countries.
The meeting participants stressed that Uzbekistan and China plan to continue on the path of further development of strategic partnership and friendly relations.
