Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized a roundtable with fruit and vegetable producers, as well as manufacturers of cardboard boxes, plastic, and paper packaging.

The main topic of discussion was enhancing the quality of packaging for fruit and vegetable products to improve export processes.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davron Vakhabov, entrepreneurs, and leading industry specialists. Participants shared their experiences and discussed the prospects for cooperation.

In 2024, food exports increased by US$370 million compared to the previous year, exceeding US$2 billion. Uzbekistan ranked third in the world for apricot exports, seventh for cherries and peaches, and tenth for mung beans and other legumes. Cherries are exported to 16 countries worldwide. In 2024, Uzbekistan produced more than 16 million tons of vegetables and melons, 5 million tons of fruits and grapes, and 4 million tons of potatoes.

The roundtable became an important step in the development of Uzbekistan’s export potential, providing entrepreneurs with a platform for exchanging experiences and establishing business contacts.
