Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A business forum dedicated to fostering tourism ties between Uzbekistan and China was held in Tashkent. Organized by Prestige Travel with the support of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, the event brought together public and private sector representatives from both countries.
The highlight of the forum was the announcement of regular direct flights between Tashkent and Hainan, set to commence on 18 December.
The forum featured B2B meetings where participants explored prospects for collaboration and signed agreements and memoranda of understanding between Uzbek and Chinese tourism companies.
Lu Fanghu, head of Hainan’s Tourism Department, noted a growing number of Chinese tourists visiting Uzbekistan—approximately 60,000 over the first 10 months of 2024—and expressed confidence in further boosting tourism exchanges. The forum is seen as a significant step toward advancing Uzbekistan’s tourism industry and enhancing its global standing.
