The hospital is somatic hospital and it serves of maternity hospital of Tashkent, as well as children up to the age of three.

Over 200 guests participated at the opening of the hospital, including employees of medical establishments of Tashkent city, Ministry of Healthcare, international and local nongovernmental organizations, etc.

Mehr Nuri Foundation carried out capital reconstruction of hospital with help of sponsors in January-August 2011 based on modern project and Sanitary Norms and Rules.

The food department, sterilization department, drugstore and laundry were moved to other building. Wards have been reconstructed to single and double bed rooms. Hospital has been equipped with modern furniture, equipment and tools.

Painters designed internal part of hospital. They decorated with heroes of cartoons and fairy-tales, so children and mothers feel themselves more comfortable.

Tashkent city children clinical hospital No. 5 has been built in 1964 and it is designed for 130 patients. It can serve 3,000 children a year. Some 171 people, including 30 doctors, work at the hospital.
