Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Seoul, a meeting took place between Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, and Chang Mi Ran, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Republic of Korea.

Both sides noted the significant potential for developing tourism relations between the two countries, citing the growing interest of Korean residents in Uzbekistan and the annual increase in mutual tourist flow.

During the talks, they discussed updating the legal framework for tourism relations, sending tourism experts to educational institutions, adopting Korean expertise in Uzbekistan’s tourism education, training tour guides with Korean language proficiency, implementing technical assistance projects for tourism development, and carrying out infrastructure projects, among other topics.

The parties agreed to develop new tourist routes, organize joint promotional campaigns, and create special programs for Korean tourists interested in learning about Uzbek culture and history.

The discussions also included simplifying visa procedures for Korean tourists, improving service quality in the tourism sector, and organizing joint cultural and sporting events to strengthen cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Korea.
