Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt am Main, together with the Chairman of the Board of the Uzbek-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gulnara Salimova, organized a webinar for members of the National Textile Federation of Switzerland (Swisstextiles), Dunyo news agency reported.
The webinar was dedicated to the economic development of Uzbekistan and the formation of a favorable investment climate for expanding exports and modernizing the textile industry.
The event was attended by employees and members of the Department of International Relations of the Swiss Textile Federation "Swisstextiles", Chairman of the Board of the Uzbek-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UZSCCI) Gulnara Salimova, Executive Director of the International Textile Federation in Germany (ITMF) Christian Schindler.
The Consulate General presented a presentation on the progress of Uzbekistan in the economic sector and preferences for foreign investors, structural reforms, an integrated transport and logistics system, and the scientific and intellectual potential of the country. Statistics are presented that demonstrate the increase in Uzbekistan’s position in international business rankings over the past few years. It was emphasized that the republic attaches special importance to the dynamic development of trade and economic relations with all EU countries.
In turn, the chairman of the Uzbek-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gulnara Salimova told participants about the rich raw materials and diversified industrial base of Uzbekistan. She noted that the textile industry is one of the leading and dynamically developing sectors of the country’s economy. Over the past 7 years, the industry has become one of the leaders in attracting foreign investment and exporting products with high added value.
The Executive Director of the International Textile Federation of Germany, Christian Schindler, also made a presentation and informed the participants about the grandiose ITMF Conference and the World Fashion Convention 2024, which will be held in Samarkand on September 8-10.
Representatives of Swiss textile companies showed high interest in cooperation with Uzbekistan to implement mutually beneficial industrial and investment projects.
