Sultanov says FIFA deservedly rated Uzbekistan’s efforts
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Chairperson of the Association of Women Football, Women Mini-Football and Beach Football of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov said that FIFA deservedly rated long-term efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan, awarding the right to host the FIFA 2012 Women’s FIFA U-20 World Cup to the country.
Alisher Sultanov said that Uzbekistan did a lot to receive the right to host the event. “Of course, it is imposible not to note support of the government in developing women football. I believe that news, which made happy the Uzbek people, is the result of attention of the Uzbek President to development of football.”
Sultanov also underlined that the country has been paying special attention to development of women football for last several years.
He said that seven years ago, at creation of Sevinch football club, the team gathered only ten girls. He added that now there are over 150 women, who play football.
