“Stolen Vehicles Search Techniques” National Training held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Thirty-one officers from Border Guards Committee, Ministry of Interior and State Customs Committee participated in a training on search techniques of stolen vehicles.

The training was organised by the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA) funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).

Two trainers from the European Union (Austria) provided basic information about different kinds of car theft and search aids. In the course of the training, participants learned how to read a vehicle identification number (VIN) and how to detect stolen vehicles.

On the third day trainers conducted a hands-on training session together with participants to use knowledge and skills acquired during the previous two days of the training.

The overall objectives of BOMCA are to help increase security in the Central Asian region, to contribute toward the facilitation of legitimate trade and transit, and to reduce the illicit movement of goods and people.

The BOMCA Programme is funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP with ICMPD as an implementing partner for training component.
