The mission included economist of the World Bank John Gabriel Goddard, Senior Specialists on development of private sector Mellissa Johns and Senior specialist of investment policy department Peter Kuzyk.
The Uzbek delegation included the First Deputy chairperson of the State Property Committee Sayfitddin Gafarov, deputy chairperson Ahtam Daliev, acting director-general of the Center for coordination and control over securities market Askar Obidov and others.
During the meeting, the World Bank officials expressed interest in implementation of privatization programme in Uzbekistan, legal environment, created for joint stock companies and shareholders, development of securities market.
Representatives of the State Property Committee briefed the World Bank officials on above-mentioned issues and expressed readiness to cooperation in studying international experience on privatization, corporate management, protecting rights of investors and shareholders in order to develop draft laws.
World Bank officials expressed their satisfaction with meeting, the State Property Committee of Uzbekistan said.
