The committee said that on October 25 the subscribers of Unitel (Beeline trademark) received a communication reporting the suspension of Unitel’s license and temporary cessation of its activities quoting a decree of the committee. The reports were spread via social network and mobile phones.

The State Committee for communication stated that the information on about suspension of the activities of Unitel and issue of the corresponding resolution is untrue.

Beeline said its subscribers became victims of fraudulent spam messages, which were disseminated via SMS messages and messengers such as WhatsApp and Viber.

The message is untrue. The operator said that the State Committee for communication, information and telecommunication technologies of Uzbekistan also confirmed that the message on suspension of license was not true.

The message includes wrong license number of Ucell and the body, which issued the decree, was renamed a long time ago. So this is a rather crude forgery.

Oraz Abdurazakov, head of press service of Unitel, recommended the subscribers do not yield to provocations. He said that the company works on ordinary mode and on Monday it will launched new wide-scale prize campaign among subscribers.

He said that the legal specialists of Unitel are preparing to submit a complaint to the Prosecutor-General’s Office on this case. He expressed his assurance that the competent bodies will find those behind this campaign and punish them.
