The external part of the museum will be reconstructed in national style with use of modern architecture design. The exhibition halls will undergo capital repair.

The museum will receive modern equipment. The special services will be created for foreign tourists. It is also planned to construct city of craftsmen, art-café, souvenirs shop.

Uzbektourism will actively attract foreign tourists to the museum to promote national heritage and history and culture of Uzbekistan.

The museum will mark its 100th anniversary in 2018. Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs and other bodies were entrusted to mark this event on high level.
