Special Representative of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Meets OSCE Envoy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 September, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, held talks with Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Terhi Hakala.

The parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation on Afghanistan and reaffirmed their mutual interest in maintaining regular dialogue on Afghan settlement. The OSCE envoy highly praised Uzbekistan’s efforts to promote a consolidated regional approach to Afghanistan.

They also exchanged views on the restoration of Afghanistan’s national economy and opportunities for integrating the country into regional connectivity processes.

The talks were held in a constructive spirit, reinforcing the commitment to further developing practical dialogue between Uzbekistan and the OSCE.
